Central Kentucky Reining Horse Association
The Central Kentucky Reining Horse Association (CKRHA), an affiliate of
the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA), was founded by a group of
reining enthusiasts located in the Lexington, Kentucky, area. CKRHA has
grown over the years from a handful of reining competitors who recognized
the need and interested in reining competitions in the Bluegrass Region,
close to 100 members. CKRHA host several NRHA sanctioned competitions each
year in Lexington and Frankfort, Kentucky, as well as clinics, and schooling
shows.
The members of CKRHA come from all walks of life and CKRHA welcomes all
levels of competitors. CKRHA has structured their class list and show schedules
to accommodate all riders, from those green reiners who are just learning
about the sport, to national competitors who consistently rank in the NRHA
Top Ten. CKRHA boasts some of the nation’s most competitive non-pros,
youth, and open riders in their membership roster as well as a large pool
of green reiners, rookie riders, and youth, which make up the back bone
of the club. The club works hard to provide an event everyone can get involved
in.
The club strives to host professional, well organized and successful added
money shows each year - adding a derby in 2005 and hosting the USEF Reining
Championship in 2006. Most importantly, the club wants to keep it fun. CKRHA
often hosts great competitor parties at their shows and gives great awards!
CKRHA firmly believes that the club membership is and should always be the
number one priority for the club and keeping the competition fun should
be the goal.
